A couple of days ago I had my first exhibition which was an important step forward. Now I feel like summing it up to this point.
2009 I started to illustrate and create pieces for myself again, which I rarely did the years before, for whatever reason. Except for a couple of more or less serious sketches I didn´t really do anything for a good 2 or 3 years- that way you hardly develop your skills.

In 2007 I gratuated and was lucky enough to help out in a little design studio called Menschlabor. And there I reside until today…  Within the first two years of working there I realised that graphic design doesn´t really satisfy me. A lot of the work was shallow to me, even the jobs where you had to do more than the usual „just hold on to the CI guidelines" in different formats.

I think the main reaon for me to go back to my old passion of drawing was mainly throughout websites like this one. I was looking at so many incredible pieces of design and art. At one point I thought to myself that I am certainly able to do it as well.
Because of my education I was able to use all the programs and tools I needed to a certain extent. So I started using Freehand (yes, I still used it) to find out how to create illustrations like the people I admired. I think my gallery might give you a good idea of the progess I made since then.

I feel like saying thanks to a lot of people that don´t even know I exist. They have influenced me and I look up to them. They helped me to have my first exhibition with a lot of nice people and overall positive feedback:
Greg Capullo, Walt Disney, Peter Laird, Eric Libergé, Frank Frazetta, Albert Uderzo, Morris, Joe Madureira, Katsuhiro Otomo, Yukito Kishiro, Juan José Ryb, Hydro 74 etc.

And I wanted to say thanks to the people here on DA who think of me as watchlist worthy and all of the people who support me by faving my work and help me to spread the word.
